A new restaurant just opened in Makati and it offers two of the things we love the most: good food and cuddly stuffed animals.
Zoo Coffee is a Korean cafe franchise that has more than 100 branches operating all over South Korea, including stores in Beijing, Taiwan, and of course its latest, here in the Philippines. Boy aren’t we lucky!
As if you do not know what you are getting yourself into if you happen to drop by the restaurant, a giant model of a giraffe awaits you outside. From the jungle-inspired decorations to the wooden pieces of furniture and artificial trees, the place really does scream safari. You also do not need to worry about spending your time in the café alone as some of our jungle friends are there to keep you company (because seriously, who wouldn’t want to hang out with a panda while you enjoy your favorite cup of joe?).
The store is not as huge as how it appears to be in pictures, but just enough for 30 people to have a chilling good time while they satisfy both their Korean cravings and Instagram feed (plenty of photo ops in there, guys!)
Now on with the food and drinks. Aside from the usual espresso, coffee, and frappe we expect on cafés, Zoo Coffee offers an “I’m Korean” drinks menu, which includes Honey Tea and Honey Latte you can buy at P165 each. A café wouldn’t also be complete without some waffles, sandwiches, and desserts. You shouldn’t particularly miss out the Honey Bread which is said to be very famous in Korea, and the café’s Bingsu, the Korean version of halo-halo. The single servings of both are good for two people but trust me, you would not want to share them with anyone.
If you are in the mood for a hearty and healthy meal, you could order the American Hotdog sandwich or the Cheesy Hotdog one, paired with some salad on the side.
So guys, in the event that you have thought about dining with a monkey or tiger one of these days, Zoo Coffee has you covered!
